so ive posted some things in here before about some of the extremely odd and uncoothe and sometimes psychotic behavior of the track coach at my school and his coaching policies.
recently my coach has learned about the new lightweight football cleat made by adidas. its called adidas adistar uncaged (google it or check it out in the newst eastbay mag if you wish), and it weighs 3.9 ounces. it is lighter than any track spike ever made, including the nike zoom victory. anyways, coach is obsessed over weight and physics and says the lighter is faster. this is true and has been proven by physics, but he takes it to extreme levels by having us step on the scale before and after every practice, and now requiring that we do all of our track races in the lightest football cleat known to man. I have talked to him about how cleats may not give the best grip on the track, but he doesn't care. he said we can use a fingernail file and file the cleats sharper if we want, but we are required to purchase and wear these cleats in all races, as they are such as physiological advantage in the wonderful world of aerodynamics and physics.
if any member of the team does not purchase these cleats and wear them in their event at the track meet, that violator is immediately KICKED OFF the team.
