I'm a junior (second year running) in high school and finished my sophomore outdoor season with a 1'57 800m and a 49 second 400m. I haven't ran the 400m this season but my best 800 has been a 1'56 this season and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong because a 49 400m should allude to a much faster 800m. I haven't ran the 400 this outdoor season but I ran a 50 second 400m enroute to the 600m (1'22). I'm trying to be recruited and my times are not where I want them to be. I'm aiming for a 1'52 this season. Can you guys guide me in the right direction?
