Pretty impressive performance on a challenging course (2 laps around Central Park) for a 43 year old.
It didn't look like she had any competition / anyone pushing her at all throughout the race either.

I scratch her off my list. IDK.
Nice for Deena. That More/Fitness race is mainly for walkers. Eighty percent of the field is walking before the second mile
She seems to be a straight baller. Is she going to be this generation's Joan Benoit Samuelson crushing age groupers well into her 50s?
Funny that you mention that. I went for a stroll in the park and there were still some stragglers hobbling in -- 3 hrs 45 minutes and still going strong!
DOB 14 February 1973, so 42yo now rather than 43; in any case, a solid run for a 42yo -- solo effort on a challenging course.
In 2013, at 40yo, she ran 1:12:57 in February & 1:13:25 at this NYC race (also ran 2:32 at LA marathon in March). Went on that year to run 2:36:12 for 9th at WC.
Last year, 41yo, she ran 1:11.57 in March & 1:11:38 at NYC, before going on to run 1:09:37 in September and 2:33:18 at NYC marathon.
She seems to be more or less close to the level of these past two years, which would suggest to me that, if she remains healthy, she can run low 2:30s at the OT. I would not expect her to make the Olympic team, but that would be a solid performance (at that point she would be 43yo). I hope she continues to do well through this next year.

That's an understatement. I was at about the 1/2 mile mark and she was already all by herself. She was on 71:45 pace at 6 miles, so she slowed a bit. Would be nice if NYRR could bring in some other elite runners for that race to give her some competition. Nevertheless, great to see her running these kinds of times at her age.
