My coach had us do a workout 2 days before a race (1600) which was 600 (1:42), 400 (62 high) and another 600 (1:39), each rep was all out. In between each rep we had a slow 800m recovery jog, so maybe 3:30 in between each set of I had to guess. In the race I ran 4:47.5 which is a lifetime PR by about 3 seconds. My question is, does that workout warrant a faster 1600 time, or was I right at my best?
I am 18, a senior in high school, my 800 PR is 2:09 5K PR is 17:48 if any of that helps.
