Everything Barkley said basically was proven true against the 8th seed Pelicans. The Pelicans got off to a miserable star, but over the last 3 quarters they outscored the Warriors 86-78. They were especially dominant in the 4th (+11), when Anthony Davis, who was quiet for most of the early game, was unstoppable and exploded/exposed the Warrior interior for 35. They were completely helpless against him
Adding to this intrigue is that the Warriors did pretty much what they were expected, Curry had a big game, Thompson was big, you can't say any of their players played poorly. They also had a huge FT advantage. New Orleans, on the other hand, had their 2nd best player go down with just 1 point, and their 3rd and 4th best players were never really a factor.
Yet The Pelicans almost came back and won, the completely silent crowd late in the 4th was most telling.
I honestly didn 't think the Pelicans would beat them, but now I have my doubts. Davis is a beast and I'm sure they are very confident now, dominating after their jittery 1st quarter.
Regardless of what happens in this series, the Warriors are not getting anywhere near a title. A team like the Spurs will dismantle them.
