Ok so I know most people on here are runners and not doctors but any feedback would be great. On Monday I started feeling a little bit of a shin splint in my left leg. That day I ran pretty easy on it, then Tuesday went easy, then 1600m race on Wednesday. I haven't ran since then and I have my region meet for the 3200m next Tuesday. The shin pain hasn't got to the point where I can't run on it and I barely even feel it when I'm running. I can feel it a little afterwards but still minor pain. I plan on not running till Monday and then race on Tuesday. After this my season will be over. (Don't mind sectionals or state, I have already looked at other runners times and I know I won't make it to those meets.) Anyways, I always here about people taking 6 weeks off from shin splints but those are people that are running on them constantly for weeks and they get really bad. I plan on only taking two and a half weeks off after region to start base training for xc. Considering I will have only ran for 5 days on my shin splints do you think 2 and a half weeks of no running will be enough to fully recover. Thanks
