To cut a long story short, I haven't trained properly since June of last year, and haven't run a good race since February. I was initially injured for 2 months, but once I got to university my running has completely derailed and I have run one PB since June - 10K on the roads which was by far my weakest anyway.
At my best last summer I was in c. 4:04 1500 shape and probably could have sneaked under 16:00 for 5K. Recently I ran a 1500 after a few months of injury-induced breaks and lots of typical student laziness and after going through the bell in 3:12 completely cratered once I tried to change pace and finished in 4:30+. Utterly embarrassing as I still talk the talk of a serious runner.
How long is it going to take me to get back to low-4:00s for 1500 (and eventually much faster)? I'm still only 18 but turn 19 in the summer. Thanks for any help/advice!
