I have been having pain on outside of knee for about 3 weeks now from racewalking a lot of miles. It hurts just walking around the house, so I have not been doing any racewalking at all for 3 weeks. A physical therapist told me I have IT Band Syndrome. I have been doing strength exercises for hips (lying side leg lifts, clam shells, hip hikes, hip thrusts, etc.) every other day and stretching and foam roller every day. I also ice my knee frequently. So far it has not improved at all. I also received some Active Release Technique therapy and that also did not help. Is there anything else I can do and will this eventually begin to improve or is this a life sentence?
