I went to an event sponsored by these guys last night! It was a press conference for some of the best Amateur runners in the Boston area - Ruben Sanca, Eric Ashe, Jason Ayr, Nicole Casey, Lindsay Willard, and Hilary Dionne. They did an awesome job hosting a pretty unique event, so I'll give them my Wearer of Fine Garments official thumbs up, for what its worth.
(I'm not affiliated with them, FYI) The most interesting part is that it's a "pop up" store front, I guess meaning you can't purchase the products there but instead order them. Seems odd, but it's probably not permanent and I'm in favor of anyone doing something different to get a start up going. The building has a cool clubhouse/Ivy League vibe, which is a cool throwback and fits in pretty well on Newbury Street.
The other thing is the clothing: Stuff like vintage shorts, jerseys, jackets, etc. I'm not sure what the materials are - they feel like the old wool/cotton club jerseys quite a bit because they're soft, but I have to imagine they're synthetic. It'd be nice to hear more about how they make them. The stuff is expensive but hey, lots of stuff is expensive, including the horribly designed and terribly produced crap from the big companies. Slap a "_____ Marathon" sticker on one of those same jerseys at an expo and it will probably cost almost the same as a high quality one from these guys. From someone who's seen the quality of most running stuff I'd just say: If I didn't run exclusively in soiled, ill-fitting race day t-shirts, I'd wear this stuff.
Anyway, not an employee but I impressed and I'd wish these guys well!
