If Pentangeli hated Roth, then why did he presumably conspire with him to kill Corleone? What did he have to gain if Rosato bros were trying to muscle him out?
Why did Corleone ask Roth who ordered the hit on Pentangeli when he earlier told Roth that he was going to kill Pentangeli?
What did Fredo tell Johnny Ola about Corleone that helped them make the hit attempt? If it was his address then Fredo's story of not knowing they wanted Michael killed doesn't pan out. Fredo could have been lying, but why did he tell Ola on the phone he didn't want him contacting him anymore and was "used" by them.
After that call Fredo later revealed information to Corleone that could have only come after that call
If Quesart was on Roth's payroll (as Fredo confessed to Michael) then why would he expose Corleone's deals for the casinos which also included Roth? This would incriminate Roth too, and presumably did, as he was to be arrested once he returned to America (right before he was killed).
And then why was he arrested and Corleone got off scot free? And Corleone was never even arrested.
In the flashback sequence how in the hell did a 9 year old Vito Andolini (Corleone) go from being hunted by an entire village to safely making it to a boat traveling to America?
There were a few others too
Maybe this wasn't such a great film after all.
