I doubt he would actually leave them. Idk, I thought it was pretty weird that he abandoned his team for Footlocker too. Would he still be able to compete at Arcadia, Dream Mile, etc if that was the case?
I know that I could do some research and probably find out, but does anyone know what CIF's policy on home-schooled athletes is these days?
I believe he is still attending Summit HS
He is probably just on Spring break.
If he did leave the program, it certainly wouldn't be the first time a national caliber athlete has left the team their senior year.
He might have been on vacation, but his spring break was March 22-28.
My guess is he was just still on vacation and hasn't left his team, but I guess we'll find out later this week.
He apparently has been kicked off the team.

Just got a note from a friend of the family, this is true

What for? Seems like it'd have to be pretty bad to boot someone that good.
What is California's policy on unattached athletes? You must be a HS athlete to run at the meets in my state.
I'm not sure if it's true he has been kicked off, but it's possble that he left. I heard that some of his teammates don't like him at all.
Does anyone get through high school with "everyone" liking them. I doubt it. I have no idea how popular or not he is at school or with his former team. I'm sure NXN did not make him "more popular" however, he should have been able to finish out his senior year.
and yes, it is true, he was kicked off.
As a tax payer, I think it is total b.s. that political power comes in to the decisions to let kids play or not.
Yeah, I don't think one can really justify kicking him off.
Probably depends what he was "kicked off" for.
Can anybody even show proof he was kicked off?
I'm not sure what happened but if you check out his twitter Andrew Hunter tweeted "#FreeMaton" so something must have happened.
What meet was this? Is there a link to the results?
SF state distance carnival 2mi
I heard he was kicked off for missing practices. Same rules for everyone on the team.
Travis Neumann didn't run for summit his senior year, ended up running unattached at a few races. Wonder if there is something up with the track program at Summit.
If things were difficult with the team it would make sense to focus on xc. He is a duck now.
