Shoe advice--Pegasus

I used to only wear Pegasus - now wearing Asics Zaraca 2's and they are very similar & great!

Have you tried the Pegasus 31? Like you, I was not a fan of the 30s but I feel like the 31s got the model back on track.

Thanks for the recs so far. I may give the Asics a go. Is the toebox as narrow as the Pegasus?

As for the 31, I haven't tried it. Pretty similar to the 29?

Give the Saucony Ride 7 a try. With your customer inserts it will give you a little more space and it has much better cushion overall.

Never used the Pegasus before the 31s but I wanted to get something to replace my Brooks Launch 1s while I waited for the Launch 2s to come out. Now I like the Pegasus as my daily trainer over everything I use. Will even keep them on for speed work on occasion.

To me the toe box is roomy enough, well cushioned, transitions nice from midfoot to toe off. Coming from a long time Brooks wearer the Pegasus 31 has me sold (for now)

WTF? 29 and 30 are virtually identical.

I run in the 30's and actually really like them the best out of the models over the past few years. However if you find it too much shoe, you may consider trying the 31's. They are comfortable, but to me, don't feel as cushioned/supportive to run higher mileage in. But if you already have orthotics, may help that some. Toebox also feels narrower than the 30's. How about Vomeros for another neutral type shoe?? I have actually never tried this but am curious as to how these compare to the Pegasus. Otherwise my next go to

The 29 and 30 don't feel identical.

To the OP, I think the 31s feel more like the 29s than the 30s. IMO, the toebox of the 30s felt cramped and overall I thought it restricted the motion of my foot a lot more than the 29s or 31s.

I have a pretty narrow foot, so having a narrow toebox is actually a good thing.

And yes, that has been my experience with the 30 versus the 29. Less flexible, restricts the movement of my foot. And the heel feels a little bulkier.

Sounds like I should give the 31 a try.

Try the Brooks Launch. It has a similar midsole density, but I personally think the arch design is better suited to orthotics. The shoe still has an offset, but is very flat inside after removing the default insole.
