I would have her run exclusively 800m time trials once or twice a week.
I would have followed the path that brought her to 1.59 flat. She ran a 1500m last week, and her result was disappointing. Off endurance training, she can't even beat her weak 4.19; 4.19 is ok for 400/800 types but quite slow in general. She ran 4.20.
Work the midgame. She's got the speed for fast starts, but hasn't trained to hold most of it through 600 so she doesn't use it.
200's, 300's, 400's with enough recovery that they simulate that 200 to 600 segment, not before or after. 600 in target race split, 1:25 to 1:27. And suchlike stuff. Get to where she can do two 1:27's in one day and she'll go 1:57 this year and 1:55 next.
Well that really depends on her past training, doesn't it? And her weaknesses, of which I'm not privy to having never met her or studied her on video.
Probably be in the gym twice a week for about 30 minutes per session.
Some treadmill running in front of a mirror to work on mechanics several times a week.
Probably about 2000 meters worth of 800 pace a few times a week done around 60 meters per rep.
Alexander Technique twice a week.
Voice lessons twice a week.
Irish dance twice a week.
You know, the basics.
