Brett Hoover, the founder of Hepstrack.com, started at petition last week to
address the "Indiana Religious Freedom" law as it relates to the NCAA, which is headquartered in Indianapolis.
Brett wrote on facebook when he first posted the link to the petition:
"To have corporate offices in a state with the freedom of discriminate against visitors, particularly the gay community, the NCAA would be condoning the actions of the state's legislature and governor. If it convened meetings in Indianapolis, it would subject its guests to sanctioned bigotry.
That's why I created a petition to Mark Emmert, President, NCAA, which says: "Now that the Indiana Governor has signed into law the right for businesses to freely discriminate under the guise of religious freedom, the NCAA should relocate its national headquarters. That move would be consistent with the organization's sanctioning of both South Carolina and Mississippi for state-sponsored bigotry.""
Over 57,000 people have signed it already. Brett aims to deliver this petition to NCAA later this week. It's still open for additional signatures, if anyone is inclined to sign.
