No. LetsRun sleuths would find out what I did and freak out about it. The ensuing 50,000 post thread would destroy my reputation and I would probably lose what little I had.

Much better if you started the race running with the leaders the first mile or two so you could get some tv time with a big ad painted on your chest. It would be epic to then burst on the course with a half mile to go right in front of the leader and outsprint him to the tape!
I would NEVER blatantly cut the course of a marathon to win! I would unabtrusively cut the course to win.
To do so blatantly would be foolish.
(Although winning at my age probably would draw a bit of attention)
