More looking for commiseration than actual question.
So I'm trying to recover from a shin splint and I do everything suggested on these boards, except I suck at the rest part.
As soon as it doesn't hurt to walk, I run again. It hurts immediately, but like a true insane person, I tell myself each and every time that it is just stiff, and I finish my planned run hobbling like an idiot. The sadder part is that I'm a physician so I should really know better. (However, as an aside, MDs learn absolutely nothing about injury recovery in medical school or residency unless they are an orthopedic resident or do any sports med/ orthopedic electives) Anyone else find their IQ slip down while recovering from injury because of the difficulty in staying away!
