Would you return it and buy online to save $5.40?

I wouldn't but only because I'm a lazy ahole with more money than sense.
You don't think the convenience of having it right now is worth the $5.40?
0.5/10 because I responded.
How would I return it? I don't have it. You're the one who bought it.

That's a great question. I don't need it right now as it's only for occasional use for my home laptop. I only bought it for the occasional periods that I'm doing a lot of writing/editing on my laptop.
im too lazy

I'm lazy, too, but $5.40 is probably enough for me to go back into Wal-Mart (it's on the way home from work). Just curious what others would do.

I was going to touch on that point next. Not trying to be a jerk, but it's only $5.40. Move on.
You would have to pay me more than that to step foot in Wal Mart.

I don't think you're trying to be a jerk. No worries. However, I think I'm going to return the mouse on the way home. The weather sucks, and all I have to really do tonight is walk the dog and vacuum and mop the living room (hardwood floors).
My time is worth more than $5.40 to me.
Plus then you would have to wait for it instead of using it now.

This is why I read LR.
Thanks for the humor. +10
No, I wouldn't. $5.40 /time it takes to return it & order a new mouse (45 minutes) is about 7 dollars an hour return on investment. Not worth it in my opinion. If you are talking about only 5 minutes because you were going to walmart then yes, I would.

How about $9 then?

Thanks. I was not planning on going to Wal-Mart, but it is right on the way home. I assume 15 minutes from the time I pull into the lot to the time I pull out (lol). I plan to buy the mouse on bestbuy.com (already have it picked out), so the purchase process online will take only 5 minutes. So, I figure about 20 minutes total.
Just a quick follow-up. I did return the mouse to Wal-Mart yesterday. It was a bit less than 15 minutes to get the return completed. I did have to stand behind a parent and a screaming baby. Also, as I entered the Wal-Mart, there was a lady talking to a police officer about an "incident." As I left, two more cops had arrived.
When I got home, I ordered the same mouse off of bestbuy.com.
Thanks for the update. How are you going to spend that $5.40?
Wal Mart accepts returns on just about everything - no questions asked. I had a friend who bought an above-the-ground pool and used it all summer then returned it in the fall. He found a used vaccum cleaner on the side of the road and with no receipt he got money for it. But the people who work there are not the best employees.
Holy crap is it worth your time to drive back there, stand in a line, then go order another one? For $5.40?
Good Lord NO I wouldn't take it back. What a waste of your time and gas and then potential frustration waiting in the Customer Service line. I wouldn't take it back if the internet now had them for free. You saw it in the store and thought it was a fair price to pay. That should be it.

My wife and I are taking a short 2-night getaway this weekend, so it'll probably get spent then. Not sure on what, however. We're touring a few museums Saturday, so maybe I'll spend it there.
