Three coaches. Two coach the distance squad exclusively. I asked them the other day if they would like me to teach them high jump or disc or shot or anything and they said they have no interest.

PV kids go to the next school over.
I am fairly organized and have the whole season mapped out. But that means little. I can give groups the workout, things to look out for, mechanics, etc but these kids are getting short changed from hands on coaching. I feel bad. Every single group is being neglected.
I set the discus cage up the other week while the other two went out on a run with the distance squad. Spent a two hour practice with some throwers setting that up. All those other groups worked out but where was the coaching? The observation? The critique?
Obviously I could go to the AD and gripe. Can he make them coach? Maybe, but he can't make these guys interested in an event.
The real question would be how do you coaches manage the technical events on daily basis? Weekly basis? Anyone in the same boat?
Should I just spend one day per event? I've told these kids that even if I am not working with them that day or at that moment what they are doing is still important.
Also this is probably the real reason why you should not run with your athletes.
