Hi all,
This is my first post here as I find myself in a pretty desperate situation. I have registered for the Great North Run in September, which will be my first ever half-marathon.
I've started running this year and tried a few competitive 5ks and 10ks in training using the Nike Free 5.0 2014 shoe.
I've experienced slight calf pain and sore knees, and have been told I have unusually high arches.
I don't know if buying over-the-counter insoles, or seeing a podiatrist would be the best option. One of my friends has suggested a gait analysis, but will this just lead to me being sold high-end unaffordable shoes?
I prefer the idea of getting an insole that I could use multiple times and in different shoes.
If anyone could help me with suggestions or previous experiences I would really appreciate it :-)
