it went pretty well honestly, better than I originally thought it would, 5:38 pace. This was the first time I actually ran steady and the run went great! thinking about what kind of distances I would be good at competing in! any thoughts?

i bet you could maybe break 60 for a 10 miler
Freshman year of hs, I ran 56:43. Pr's that year were 16.01 for 5000 (road), 9:54 for 3200, and 4:38 for 1600. That might give you an idea.
if it was actually a regular training run & not balls out, go try to run 5:30s for a HM.
Agreed. I would shoot for a half marathon.
Course is short.
No mention of any other running and you just cruised 10 in under an hour.
This usually means "about ten miles". Sometimes it's just 10 kms.
Again, get over yourself and quit starting threads to always brag about how good you think you are. You always like to talk about how awesome you are in training, but where are the race results to back it up? What have you actually done that's worth while? Some decent high school races? 1-2 road wins at dinky backwoods races with zero competition? Training means nothing without real race performances to back it up. Hell, I can say I ran XX:XX for the around the barn, down to the gas station, through the park loop too on what I "think" is a 10 mile course. But if a tree falls in the woods with nobody around, does it still make as sound?
Saying you ran 8 X 200 in 30 seconds each does not mean you ran a 4:00 mile. Same principle applies.
Obviously not the half marathon CZ since you could only seem to manage 1:17 in a real race today. But how can this be since you're soooooo fast for 10 miles?

Either that wasn't a true 10 mile run or you trained horribly for your races
