Hey LetsRun shoe experts, I need help. I am not one of those runners that follow trends in shoes, or tries lots of shoes, or really has a good feel for what might work for me. So I am asking for your help. I am willing to try several different shoes to find one that works for me:
My details:
I've used the Wave Ronin (models 2-5) for many years. I liked the shoe a lot (obviously), but on the other hand, I didn't really give others shoes a chance. I just stuck with what seemed to work. It's discontinued now, and I just want to try something else anyway (so don't tell me I can still find the Ronin 5, I'd like to move to something else).
I've gotten really used to a lighter shoe, so I don't think I could go with a much heavier one (I think Ronin was about 7 oz. So 7-8.5 oz would likely be my range). On the other hand, I can't go super light, I feel I need some cushioning. In fact, I probably would not have used the Ronin so much if I were running all my miles on the roads, but instead, I run mostly on grass/trails (softer surfaces). So I don't feel I need tons of cushioning on these surfaces (but some).
I have a pretty wide foot, and have had some calf problems, and minor knee issues.
ANY SUGGESTIONS? What would be a good replacement for me? What is considered the "replacement" for the Wave Ronin at Mizuno? Also, what other Mizuno shoe do you think I'd like?
What other brands of lightweight/performance trainers might I like?
New Balance Fresh Foam? Saucony?
Hit me guys/ gals. I'd love some feedback and I REALLY need a new shoe.
Thanks.
