Thoughts anyone? He just ran LA in those bad conditions. Could go really bad for him but at least he's attempting it. Maybe Hall will follow.

if hall tries to follow he's even dumber than we thought, which is really pretty unimaginable. i think sage can get the OTQ no problem but boston doesn't really seem like the best spot to do it.
Is he doing this? As soon as I saw his time I was hoping he would do just that. He was so close and I was thinking about Mike Wardian's back to back 50k treadmill record attempts (except he has a whole month).
It was actually more for my own personal interest to see if he can recover and in fact run a better race in a month. I'd like to see him make the B standard, just because it would be cool, not because of him personally.
Not that I hate you SC, but you say sh*t like "pain cave" and you both use acronyms and spell out the acronym in the same sentence. If people won't understand an acronym, don't use it. Running doesn't need it's own language, it's just running. Good luck.
Why are we talking about a trail runner who just ran a 2:20? Who cares?

He finished 12. Last marathon Ryan Hall could finish he was 20th, and people can't stop talking about him.

You don't think think Hall being an Olympian and 1/2 marathon AR holder has anything to do with that, do you? Sage is just a huge self promoter. Good for him, that's why there's a thread about him instead if the 11 guys in front of him and the many others who have run faster on other courses. I'm not a fan of his, but he has gotten his name out there.
Good to hear Don Sage is running again!

You don't think Ryan Hall promotes himself?

I care. What was your last marathon time? ??
If he wears his moon boots he will be the tallest runner .
I'm a fan but I think this is a horrible decision. He keeps saying that racing so often is dumb but he keeps doing it. Perhaps he has a lot of pressure to qualify for the OT's and this is his only opportunity since he plans on running
Comrades and UTMB. I can't imagine this bodes well for the rest of his year and fear he's on his way to flaming out ala Geoff Roes...I suspect he doesn't plan on a long running career and wants to capitalize when the iron's hot and has other plans in place down the road, especially as the MUT scene keeps getting more competitive with faster road runners such as himself who are talented but not world class.
