I am a little older than the typical college spring break vacationers, but I still like to check out party spots. I am wondering about Austin, Tx- is it a good spot for a vacation & what is there to do?

Daytona. Hot BBWs with big butts there.
There's much more to do in Dallas or Houston, but what do my other Texan's think about Austin?
Yes, Austin is a good spring break spot with lots to see and do. It is not as interesting as it was 20-30 years ago due to rapid gentrification and yuppification. But on any given night there are at least a half dozen good bands to go see, great restaurants from Mexican to BBQ to high end sushi and steak houses. During the day, you can kayak on Lady Bird Lake, go mountain biking, horseback riding or hiking in a number of different nice state parks (enchanted Rock, Colorado Bend and Pedernales Falls are good ones), or go tubing (might be a little chilly this time of year). On a rainy day, the Harry Ransom center is very interesting (Smithsonian-esque) and the Blanton Museum has good stuff. Also, wildflower season is starting. The countryside gets covered in a blanket of bluebonnets and other wildflowers. San Antonio is a short drive and is fun for a day or two.
It is not Colorado. It isn't that cheap if you try to stay downtown. You have to rent a car. But there is plenty to do and it is not a big tourist trap.
Precious Roy-
You have me curious. I am also open to Colorado, although I would want to go in warm weather. What would be your top 2-3 recommended cites?
Anyone else is free to comment...
Colorado Springs or Boulder for the parties. Telluride for the drugs.
