Alright so I heard and read that there's 2 types of 800m runners and I'm wondering which type I? The 400/800 or the 800/1600?
My personal best are
200m 24.xx
400m 54.xx
800m 2:06
1600m 4:56
3 mile 16:33 not sure if the course I ran that was fully 3 miles but I ran 16:57 on another corse that was
5k 17:30
Please let me know what you guys think. I really want to lower my 400m time and just focus on going sub 2 in the 800 and just build a base for it. But I'm also wondering if I'm 800/1600 runner? Last year when I first started running I got those track 200-800 prs just doing moderate/fast Sprint work and I mileage about 7-10 a week. I'm mostly trying to figure out if I should run the miles since my coach won't let me run the 400 even tho I'm one of the top 3 runners in my school since we only cares about champion ships and wants me to score since we have no who wants to do it or can go sub 5. And if I do how much mileage do you think I should do for 400/800 or 800/1600. I go to a small 1a school btw
