To be fair, "God" was coaching Ryan when he ran 2:04 at Boston in 2011. And Hall has since moved on to Canova and, more recently, Daniels. Magness is probably next.
gotta love guys that use god in sports. as if the competition don't have a god of their own, as if their selfish goals are more important to their god than other people. such is the selfish nature of many "god" worshipers.
it's all about me in the end.
when you can't finish a marathon, 90% of the time you don't have the gas.
in a regular marathon, if training is not going so well, you can skip the race.
in the OG, you have no option but to show up.
90% of the guys in the field run no where near their PR in the OG.
what does this mean?
it seems that bringing a full tank of gas to the starting line is the biggest problem in running a good marathon.
so if you are not finishing several marathons in a row, you want a coach who knows how to get your tank filled back up to it's max.
i don't know if this coach exists.
probably there is something "legal" to take in route that might boost blood sugar at the latter stages of the race.
in fact, if someone really figures out how to optimize the energy system, delivery and effectively applies the knowledge to a bekele then you'll see the 2 hour marathon,
of course there are PED's combined with the hyper responder perfect athlete - out there that will probably do the trick right now. (the "Ramzi" i call it because he was busted, this protocol is used used by, ElG, Aouita, Morcelli, Macdaddy, Driouch, Cacho. in combination with traing methods based on Peter Coe work. It should be pointed out the on the planet, a rank amature in Peter Coe's methods beats anything that came from the world's "great" doctors...
such is the truth in the paradigm of the idiot.
