Indeed. Is there any hope we can keep him away from Alberto?
i'd love to see Jerry get him so we can be 100% to believe in what he does as a pro. I don't like having 50% doubt about the NOP guys.
Ches prob spent the magic beating Soratos
Duck Domination. Congrats!!
I'm sure Ches backed off...he just allowed senior Jenkins a bit of glory before he graduates and is never heard of again.
An embarrassment of riches...
Not sure what happened with Elkaim, he ran a smokin 3,000 a few weeks ago at the Dempey.
Geoghegan, impressive getting Campbell at the line to insure The Sweep.
nice job Oregon runners!....Where was Wisconsin this weekend?

He did back off.
Right after he realized he wasn't winning, and checked behind to make sure he had 2nd locked up.

Ches was all out until at least the final 20m. He only adopts that arm swing when he's all out. Obviously he was tired from the mile earlier and having to close in 2:19, but he was still giving all he had in that 3000m and Jenkins bested him on this occasion.

Looked like Jenkins won it fair and square.
Let's be real though, Oregon could have had Chez just run the 3 and 5k.
Jenkins had the lighter workload, for sure.
It's all good though, these Oregon guys are a tight Team, and THAT is what they will remember when they are 50 - not who won which.
Hold on rojo.
Ches has just said in a post-race interview that he let Jenkins win it.
We'll post the post race interview when we can.
He didn't back off to let anyone win...he got outkicked. Sure these guys go at it in workouts. For the person that says Jenkins goes away...yeah sure. Battles Lalang when he was thought unbeatable and Ches when people say the same and gets him. We will hear a lot about Mr Jenkins in the future. Very bright future indeed.
well I vote to say Jenkins looked like he won with CHes trying to win it....but knows for sure, but it looked like it to me. I want it to be true. BTW I like both
I can't wait until the guys give me a call.
Was it 100%, "Yes I let him win" or was it, "It would have been really hard as Seratos made me run the #2 time in collegiate history for the last 1k to win the mile so I backed off so I can believe I let him win."
This is so awesome. I feel like I'm 18 again and just falling in love with the sport.

Thanks Cheserek for diminishing your teammate's win.
You sir are an idiot, never heard of again. Really, enjoy your 27:00 5k PR keyboard jockey.

Tell him to ask Jenkins for a response

agreed, Cheserek is dame for admitting this
I just talked to Jonathan Gault. The interview is almost uploaded (they all did it together so it's taking a while). He will post the interview and his thoughts shortly.
Jonathan said he it appeared to thim Cheserek looked over his shoulder and when he saw it was Jenkins he let up and decided not to fight.
If that's true, the question is, "If he'd fought, would Ches have won?"
TBD outdoors let's hope!!!
Jenkins was sillky smooth.
Think about it this way. In a world championship 5000 final, you'd never expect the guy who won the 1500 final the same day to beat guys who were fresh so I think Jenkins very well still might have won.
