Hello. I don't usually post on Here, but I am sure you guys have a ton of good advice and tips for me.
First off I'm a current xc and track running, with emphasis on 5 and 10k in track. I've been active my whole life, absolutely love running, competition, and being fit and living a healthy lifestyle. I still have another year of eligibility, but i wanted to discuss with my cosch about training like a triathlete for next cross country and track season. Particularly in the summer and during winter break, i wanted to go to him knowing what I'm talking about so i came here for some advice and tips and good discussion.
I top out in mileage around 85 mpw, 1 long run and 2 workouts a week. I'm not the fastest, but my body doesn't get injured and I recover well. We also lift twice a week. This track season I'm at 70 mpw currently and am swimming 2-3 hours a week.
What are some ways to train this summer to be as strong and aerobically fit as possible? Plus this outdooe track season?
