Good race? As fast as they say? Any downsides?

I've run it 3 times. It can be very fast. It is flat with a very tiny net downhill of about 200 feet (?) Most of it is on bike paths, which are beautiful at that time of year, not to mention fast. There is one part where you go from one river to the other on streets at about 17-20, and many people fall apart. That section is really ugly and there is often a headwind. There is one steep downhill at the end, which can be hard on your quads. Also, you can run into some of the half marathon walkers traffic at the end, but it was never bad enough to impede progress.
Last time I checked, it fills to capacity really, really early though, so if you're going to run it, you'd better register asap.
Mohawk Hudson features a great point-to-point course layout. It follows both rivers, so it's basically flat with an overall net elevation drop into downtown Albany. Love this race.
