Hi letsrun,
This indoor season I ran my personal best of 1:58.05 in the 800, and I was really only training maybe 4-5 days a week due to snow days and laziness. Most of this was tempo runs which were usually 4 milers in around 6:05 pace and speed endurance workouts (300-500m repeats). I didn't exactly slack during my indoor season but I never felt I was really training hard.
Now, outdoor is coming and I really want to break 1:55 and get into the low 4:20s for the 1600m. What workouts would you suggest for this? My other PR's for indoor this year are 24.1 in the 200m, 53.2 in the 400m and 4:35 for the 1600m(this time is from my last outdoor season as I didn't run the mile indoors this year). My 5k PB is also 16:44 run on a fairly flat course.
Any advice is welcome and appreciated, thanks!
