That seems good.

Is she still in college?
Big East Champion
If so, that would be a school record, an American college record and a college record.

NCAA Record and school record by 2 seconds, surpassing Kim Smith. Incredible run.
Makes ya wonder what Disanza is capable of

It's a shame people run on oversized tracks. Jenny Simpson should have the record. She ran 15:01 and certainly would have been under 15:12 on a banked 200. She went 8:42 on a legit track that year.

Oversized tracks are no faster than banked 200. They should be recognized as the same as banked 200 for records as they are for NCAA qualifying.
Nice negative splits, this is an amazing performance, I could see her qualifying for the U.S. 10k team this summer

Proof you don't have to be anorexic to be a fast collegiate female runner. And Hormel-Monsanto GMO* diet won't hold you back from being a fast collegiate either.

Is LetsRun not going to put up a article for Sisson? She's not even listed as one of the top forums...
There should be a single thread for this. And turns out there are multiple, more than I spotted. Weird. Alright people, let's just be organized and straight to the point in celebrating/discussing an obviously astounding achievement. She is 5th year absolute, but this, (coming at the head of a trend of constant, surprising improvement over the last few years, to boot) is very noteworthy.
You're right, it is, Kim Smith is no slouch and she just broke her indoor collegiate 5k record, and the fact that she did it solo was amazing, based on her interview w/ Runnerspace, she was just looking to get in the mid 15:20's, she started ramping it up and ended up w/ a negative split, and closed in a 9:04 last 3k, a mark that would alone rank her top 10 in the NCAA 3k
There's no telling what she can do in a race like Payton Jordan w/ pacers and women who will be able to push her to a really fast time, I imagine she's in about 15:06 shape right now, but 10k is defintely going to be her bread and butter event
Speaking of that, could she break the NCAA outdoor 10k record? Lisa Uhl 31:18? I wouldn't count her out, back to back 15:39's, it would be close...
I was lucky enough to coach both Emily and Diane in high school. Both were talented, focused, and committed to their craft. As fast as both were back then the most interesting aspect was how different they were in respects to their physical tools. Emily had wicked aerobic capacity and Diane was able to tolerate high levels for waste as she pushed through tough workouts. It was nearly impossible for both to train together because the workouts would become miniature track meets. Eventually I figured out we could use recovery heart rate to separate them between intervals and make sure they hit the correct times. It is wierd to think the two fastest kids I might ever coach will come from my first six years of coaching. I believe both could eventually run in the Olympics.

Wasn't suggesting one was faster than another, just stating the facts. But since you mentioned it, for a women's 5k you're probably wrong. For something involving speed that's a diffeent story.
12 200s in a row all within .57 of each other!
All I can say is yes I did Feel free to contact them yourself on Facebook. For Emily I wrote her training her junior year in high school track season. It lead to personal bests in the 800, 1600, and 3200 that season. Two state records too. I did not train her after state. At that point she was trained by her father until college. Obviously, she has continued to improve. I wrote Diane's training her entire time that she was in school at Central. Obscure thread avatars and negative false tolling is not going to derail what we have done and continue to do as a program. I still write all of our workouts from 100-5000 at Central and not afraid to let me you guys know who I am. If you would like to come say hi at NCAA indoors nationals you can find me with both of their families and we can talk in further detail. :)
Diane who?
