Thomas Curtin (VT) almost led wire to wire on this one. He opened with a 59s first 400 and kept it rolling on his own. Hehir (Syracuse) allowed a gap to open early on and only with 1K to go did he begin to actively attempt to close it. He passed Curtin with 500 to go, at which point I thought Curtin was done. Instead, he was able to respond and win with a 27.5 last 200 (to 27.7 last 200 for Hehir). Awesome race to watch and a stunning race by Curtin.
Also, great double by Hehir who won the 5k the day before in 13:57 (and closed in 2 flat).
What do you guys think either of them can do in two weeks?
