This reminds me of when I gave away a couple hundred books and tapes a few years back, once I'd left coaching.
I dunno where I put all the info from that, but if anybody's interested in following suit, email me and I'll try to resurrect it.
Those are rare books, and you'd be better off selling them separately.
I've got Run to the Top, and have read Snell's book, but haven't read Why Die by Cerutty. I'd be interested to read it, however want to get rid of the books that I have.
Thanks. I am interested in what other running books folks recommend from that era? A lot of the newer books have gone too technical.
Running and Being by George Sheehan
Clean Pair of Heels (Murray Halberg)The Lonely Breed (Ron Clarke)Golds Aren't EasyThose 3, along with No Bugles, No Drums are the big 4 from Aussie/NZ about that era (At least I always lumped them together). Kiwis Can Fly came out later and is about Walker, Dixon, Quaz and others and is a good read. I'll throw in Deek, but haven't read it.Though one of my favorites is My Race Be Won, by Vincent Matthews (a 400m runner).

Where on Long Island have you found decent places to run with all this snow???
It has been a challenge. My off-road trails have been unpassable. And running on the roads is much riskier, as the snow/ice narrows the streets for both runners and cars. My mileage has decreased about 20% during the last month.I'm sure many in the NE have to deal with the same issue.

I have these, two mint copies of The Golden Mile (Herb Elliott Story), Hewson's autobiography, Training with Cerutty, Running to the Top, The Lydiard Way, books by Ovett, Coe and Cram, lengthy interview with Emil Zatopek, old How They Train books, Run Run Run by Fred Wilt, A Cold Clear Day, the Self Made Olympian.
You have some classics. Forgot about 'The Golden Mile'. Good one too. Is Mr. Controversial the same as Training with Cerutty? Too lazy to check at the moment. Running to the Top and A Scientific Approach to Distance Running were my first running books.A few others; Bob Shul's 'Long Run', 'In the Long Run', JH Peters, 'Always Young' (George Young's bio) and of course 'The Four Minute Mile' (Bannister). There was limited run on a Abebe Bikila bio. Don't recall its name. Also hard to get.

Nice list.African Running Revolution is part of the Runner's World monthly pamphlet series, yes? (although it is more of a book than a pamphlet).I have many, many years of T&FN. Not sure what to do with them. If you're actually tossing them you're a better man than I. I recently finished reading Wannabe Distance God and in it, Tim Tays mentions how he had to get rid of all his running memorabilia in order to move on. I recently got rid of over 100 race shirts I had. Its a start.

Did you sell them / did someone hit the minimum bid? I got distracted and forgot to put in a bid.
Reserve not met...
Just picked up and read George Young's and Bob Schul's books a few weeks ago. Contemporaries. Very different back stories very different style of writing/perspective. Igloi comes off larger than life. Schul's book was available in the Amazon shops by the Big Man himself. Signed the cover page before mailing it off. Good on ya' Bob.
A few more. I rarely look at them anymore.
Running Wild, Pirie
