What can I run for a 3200m tomorrow night? I'm racing a deep field, 18 guys with sub 10:10 PRs and 15 of them have sub 2:05 800 PRs. I'm the top seed at 9:58 but everyones right behind me. My plan is to run in 2nd-3rd place until right before the 600 marker, I'm gonna make a go for the lead and throw down a big surge as we hit the turn, at this point I'm assuming the leader will be drained from leading the whole race and everyone will either be stuck behind him or sacrifice energy sprinting past him on the turn. I'll maintain the gap until I hit the 400 and then from there I'm just gonna empty the tank. Thoughts on this strategy and what kind of time I'm capable of?
