Won six races (5 at 5000m and 1 at 3000m) against world class fields, with season's bests of 7:28 in the 3000m and 12:52 in the 5000m (also part of the same year he won the double world championship gold in 5000m and 10000m).
In my opinion, winning just one golden league/diamond league race is more impressive than a world championship/olympic race. I know it doesn't sound as fancy as the olympics, but it is MUCH HARDER to win a race full of Kenyans verses winning a race with only 3 Kenyans.
Now, imagine having to win six of them as part of a world championship year with rabbits making the pace honest and an entire field of world class African runners.
Right after Bekele's 5000m and 10000m WR's, I consider the golden league win to be his greatest athletic achievement. I'd like to see Farah win six diamond league events AND at the times Bekele won them at (these were not sit and kick 13:20 races).
Bekele's entire 2009 gave him GOAT status in my opinion (for the track). Farah hasn't done anything yet to show that he could match Bekele's achievements in 2009. Have Farah win the diamond league and maybe he can be on the same table as Bekele.
