So today i had a little bit of a scary episode while running, and i was hoping to get some info/perspective from lrc.
I did a group run today that, on paper, was easy. Ran about 1.5 mile warmup followed by 3x400 meters or so, with some other exercises between reps. I had some palpitations during the workout but decided to push through instead of back off. After the last rep we did a cool down jog, and about a minute in i got really winded. A couple minutes later i started having chest pain in the sternum area and i felt light headed. I stopped running and about 30 seconds later the pain stopped and i was okay.
So anyone have any ideas as to what might have happened? Was this a big deal or just something that i need to watch out for in the future?
Background: 24 y/o male. Diagnosed with pacs/pvcs by a cardiologist about 6 months ago. Been having them for about a year and a half, and they're becoming more frequent. Cardiologist said they aren't a big deal. Today was the first time i ever experienced chest pain while working out.
