It would only take you 4:16 to find out. Why waste time doing an hour long workout? If you don't want to do all 4 laps, then do 3.
If you are going to troll do a good job at it at least...
How is that trolling? Indicator workouts are useful when the race distance is long (like a marathon), but for something as short as a mile, what's the point? What are you saving by doing an indficator workout?
Why wouldn't you just run a mile and see if you cross the line within 10 seconds of your goal time? It's not much sillier than asking for a 30min workout in order to predict your 100m dash time. Just run!
Well for one I do not have an indoor season in my high school. Yes I do have an option of going out on my own to participate in them by myself but that would require me to have expendable money to pay my way. I am obviously not going to be able to run to my fullest potential without the competition impact. So this is the only way that I could get an indicator of where I am at fitness wise. I also wanted to know of more workouts to try to test my fitness and see where it is at. I'm sorry that I am not as knowledge able about training as others and actually have to come to this website to learn...
You don't need to be in a meet to find out. Go outside and run 1200-1600 meters at your goal pace and see how it feels.

End here. 1200 pace would probably indicate 1600 pace as well since you are alone and not competing. High school I did a 3:24 on a straight road and a couple weeks later ran a 4:33 indoors. But sometimes it's best to not know your true endurance.
Jakob Ingebrigtsen has a 1989 Ferrari 348 GTB and he's just put in paperwork to upgrade it
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
