Don't wait for a school to contact you! Many people make the mistake of waiting. Some coaches have the philosophy that "if a runner wants to run bad enough, they will contact me." Although this is a poor philosophy in recruiting methods, they do this because they only want runners who are willing to go out of there way to continue running. A friend of mine contacted a coach and was brought down the next weekend. He carried this philosophy and it made sense... He committed to this school and the first season he attended, the team became conference champions (Peach Belt Conference 2014). No, he did not attribute to the scoring as he was still a freshman and the older runners had a tad bit more training, but this skill came from good coaching. Simply stated, don't assume they are going to contact you, if you want to run, contact them.
