All of us know each other and have varying degrees of friendship. My friend was living with his fiance and suddenly, without any warning broke up with her. She apparently had zero idea it was coming as things were great from her perspective. All he could really say about her was that she was a great girl, but that he just wasn't feeling it... He then told her he was much more attracted to this other girl (who is also a good friend of mine), and they started dating two weeks later, much to the dismay of the girl who got broken up with.
I really like both of my friends, but I see all of this as being very poor form and reflecting poorly on both of them. I don't know the girl who got broken up with very well, but she seems like a very decent person. I'm not saying my friend shouldn't have broken up with her, but the way he did it and the way he just bounced into another relationship right away with someone she knows seems very crass.
What do you guys think of this? Strike while the iron is hot, or have some sensitivity? We're all in our mid to late 20s if that makes a difference and are all grad students together in the same department (which is quite large).
