I usually cut out one thing for Lent. This year, I took it another step. I have wanted to lose about 10 lbs. to get back to my race weight from my 30's. That was 20+ years ago. Anyway, I decided to not eat anything all day, except dinner with my wife. Nothing else. After four days, I didn't really feel any different, but noticed by cutting snacks my waist was a tiny bit smaller. However, when I weighed myself, I actually gained 1 lb.
I did begin a more rigorous lifting routine about 1 week before lent, and felt that this must be it. Also, I usually have a glass of wine (or two) with my meal. I have now begun to cut that off my menu, and have not had any alcohol in several days, to see if that is a significant portion of my calories or not.
Thoughts about fasting, losing weight in general, or anything you got from this?
