And I mean EVERYTHING!!!
And I mean EVERYTHING!!!
Just plain freezing in mn today. Won't get above zero.
What is canceled?
Nothing
Global warming
Get used to it
Ran an hour in Dallas before sleet made it too slippery.
De-iced car, which I'm counting as cross training.
Then half hour shakeout on mill.
this is why I love Texas. It dips below 30 and everything is closed. In South Dakota, they go to school in a blizzard, and work a full day on the farm.\
To be fair though, the roads are icy and Texas drivers can't drive in ice worth a sh*t. It would be very dangerous
That's huge! Other big news: it's currently NOT snowing in Boston. Weather is crazy today.
Why does some idiot always start a thread like this so everyone who lives in the North can talk about how badass they are that they can drive on ice and Texans can't. Are you really that envious of how successful the state is and yours isn't that you have to look that hard for something to jump on. Let me explain something. We don't have snow plows and very little equipment to treat icy roads down here. It isn't worth the investment for the few days a year that we get this type of weather--do you understand now. Also, most of us have the type of jobs that allow us to work from home from our home offices. I personally have a job with a company that just relocated from Chicago. They laid everyone off up there and moved the operation down here!
I live in the Dallas area and love it here, but I think it's ridiculous how everyone flips out over the slightest winter weather. Cancelling the marathon last year was a joke.

All I saw was this:

Is this what you'll be saying when there's record heat this summer?
Dallas sucks! Took a cut in pay to get out. It is literally hell on earth 5 months of the yr. Running there is depressing when your used to the PNW and Blue Ridge Mountains. I'm waiting for all the Dallas lovers to post about how wonderful water moccasin infested White Rock Lake is for running. Oh yeah and the women have skin like beef jerky.
You're so as not to offend the grammar police.

Went to Dallas once. Snowed over a foot.

I went in January for the National Championship game. All the local morons were bitching about the correct Dez Bryant incomplete pass call all weekend. They seemed to take pride in being ignorant there.

Statistics show more South Dakotans are involved in wintry car crashes than Texans.
Yes we don't have snowplows down here but I also think our wintry mix is different. We usually don't get snow, but sleet that instantly freezes. I had someone tell me once even in the Northeast if they got this type of weather instead of snow they'd have trouble with the roads for a day or two.
Of course we'd have problem with 1 to 2 inches of snow as well but 1-2 inches of sleet is worse on the roads from what I understand.
They had to cancel the marathon. No way could they run a marathon now on the roads in Fort Worth.
I grew up in Dallas and the running isn't that good there. Katy Trail didn't exist then.
Fort Worth I think is a pretty good running city. At least for me. One mile and I'm on the river.

You are so f u c k ed up. There's never been an NCAA Natl Champ in DI-A football, not in over 100 years of college football play.
A thread like this inevitably pops up every year.
Hey tough guy, want to drive during an ice storm bumper-to-bumper with 1 million people who have no experience driving on ice in a large city with very few sand or ice trucks? Good luck. Tell us how that works out for you.
"Also, most of us have the type of jobs that allow us to work from home.."
-hahahahahaha!!!! FALSE. What freaking planet do you live on???
