I would like to know the same. Interested the hyperspeeds, hitogami's, and 1400s.
I've run in both the NB 1400s and hyperspeed (v.4-6). If you have a wide forefoot the hyperspeed will probably work better for you. The hyperspeed 6 was finally made more snug in the heel too. Despite the wider heel, I kind of liked the total feel of the shoe in the 4th and 5th versions (they were the same I think) of the Hyperspeed. If you have a high arch and a narrower forefoot the 1400s might be more comfortable. Similar to the 1400s are the 1600s, much lighter and better for shorter races than 1400s.

I've trained pretty much exclusively in hyperspeeds since they came out, and in the magic racers before that. Awesome shoes. They don't wear too quickly. Comfortable to wear sockless. The only downside is that water comes right in. This can make winter running a little less pleasant.
No Way - Can you compare the hyperspeeds to the NB 1400's? Are the they super soft or semi firm?
They are a pretty decent flat. Definitely a wider forefoot than a lot of flats. I race in the Nike Streak LT2 and do a lot of workouts in Hyperspeeds, and that works well. I personally prefer the Hyperspeed to the Adios.
I use mine for road races, and longer workouts. Definitely wouldnt race a mile in them..
They have been my main flat for the last 4 years or so. They get the job done, aren't expensive, and work for a broad range of stuff (I wear them from track sessions to half marathons). Mine are just a bit wide in the heel, and the internal seems don't work great for sockless running, but by no means a deal breaker.
ive trained in the hyperspeed 6. a lot softer then i thought it would be. a good shoe for sure, but hard to fit in. i prefer the lt2 for races 10k and down and then the lunaracer for anything beyond a 10k.

I've used the Piranhas and hyperspeeds. Hyperspeed-5 was a bust, too narrow. Hyperspeed-4 was really good. I went a .5 size up for the Hyperspeed-6. Personally, I didn't like them. Not enough cushion. They tried to make them too light and they feel less protective than the older Piranhas.
The Piranha SP3 was the best 5k-HM shoe of all their flats. Plus classic design without the neon bright color garbage of today's shoes. The SP4 was excellent too. They are super light and responsive.
The updated Piranha SP5/BlazingFast is not so good either. The SP5/BlazingFast has more of a barefoot feel and feels like it has less spring.
I'm sticking with Asics, but hope they bring back the classic Piranha shoe and make the Hyperspeed more of a trainer/marathon shoe like it was before. I would never consider the latest Hyperspeed for the marathon. Not enough shoe. The older Hyperspeeds would work. At least for me.
I've used the 6 primarily for long workouts/tempos, considering them for the marathon. Still prefer the streak lt for half marathon and down. Comparatively, the hyperspeed is a bit more cushioned, pretty soft and roomy up front as well. Not a bad shoe by any stretch, and as noted, they seem to wear reasonably well and they can be had cheap.
