She had just run 15:11 for 5k and had the fastest PR in the country. Then she got injured and didn't run XC. Being from New York I was hoping she would break the curse, but maye she'll have another chance next year?

I believe that she is, yes. She still has eligibility (she was HS class of 2011) and unless she goes bonkers outdoors, I don't see her getting a pro contract offer that would cause her to forfeit her XC eligibility.
Of course she'll still have Kate Avery to deal with if she does come back.
Cuffe's 5k PR is faster than Hasay's.
What was Abbey's PR coming out of college 15:30 something? Cuffe has run 15:11, she is already faster than a lot of Pros at the 5k distance, and was 4th at USA nationals last year. If she can get a few wins and major NCAA titles this year, shouldn't be too hard to get a contract. The catch is staying healthy. As far as XC goes, the question is would she be ale to out kick Kate Avery? I don't think so, but it would be cool to see a duel where somebody goes with Avery, instead of just letting her run away with it.

Abbey ran 15:11.35 as a junior -- almost identical to what Cuffe ran as a junior last year (15:11.13).
Even if she doesn't win anything this year, she'll get a contract but the question is: Is it worth it to her to sign a contract in June so that she can get paid this summer rather than waiting until November (or possibly later)?
She hasn't raced at all indoors; at this point I doubt she'll run NCAAs. If I were her, I'd redshirt outdoors to balance her eligibility and come back looking to dominate in 2015-16. She'd have a great shot to win an NCAA title indoors and outdoors in 2016 (XC will be tough with Avery) and if she can get down to the 15:00s in the 5k, she'd command a lot of money in an Olympic year.
Distance runners typically don't get paid until the beginning of the next calendar year, regardless of when contracts are inked. The signing bonus usually serves as money to get you to Europe (or wherever) and help you limp through the year.
TIming and the market overall will go a long way to determining what Aisling can sign for if she comes out in 2015. Sisson, Bates, Coogan, Cuffe, etc. will all jockey for same funds to some extent.

Sorry, but you don't know what the heck you're talking about.
Does anyone know if she's actually healthy and training again?
Bump.
Does anyone have any news on Cuffe? Will she be competing in outdoors?
Ash tweets intermittently.
Per one of her fall tweets, she resumed land running late October after a 2-3 month layoff due to a summer stress fracture.
Following the recent NCAA 3k race, Cranny mentioned in a video interview she's been running with Ash, amongst others.
Nothing official yet from Stanford, but if all has gone well with her training, look for her opener at the Stanford Invite distance carnival a couple Friday nights from now.
Question is, how fit is she after taking a year off? When you are injured its really easy to get lazy, depressed, put on weight, and wonder "why me?" If she has stayed in shape thats good, but she would also have to compete with the other girls who have come into form this year like Sisson_ 15:11, I think
I was actually rooting for Megan Goethals to break the curse, but she went to Washington and Metcalf, destroyed her so :(,
Is Katie flood running this year or is she out of Eligibility?
bump
I sure hope so, that would be great for Stanford's team
Stanford doesn't stand a chance in XC.
Tonn no elgibility left,
Cuffe has dissapeared,
Cranny is a diva,
Coach is inept,
Chapus-gone,
Weissenbach- gone,
no team chemistry,
no girl willing to lead,
Its over. The Rosa's are out of commission, life sucks.

quit the team.
I don't think it was Metcalf who ruined Goethals. Megan had problems that were not physically related and there is little chance that any coach can resolve those kinds of problems. It is a bit strange though, the number of Washington runners who seem to have these issues that are other than physical. It was strange to see them win a XC championship about 10 years ago, and then go almost immediately into the tank and stay there.
Not that it's necessarily the greatest indicator, but Stanford does have a cross country roster now out for 2015/ 16 (that includes incoming freshmen), and Aisling Cuffe is on it. (http://www.gostanford.com/SportSelect.dbml?SPID=130812&SPSID=770410)
Stanford ruins more great High School runners then any team maybe combined don't get it they get a top 2 class every single year and every year they stink it up both Indoors and outdoors.
Unless it is taking boatloads of them, any program that simply takes the best athletes in their hs junior/senior year will always underwhelm. Running is a fluid sport. Few straightline performance gains to the pros. The runners that excel in hs are 1. extremely talented 2. extremely driven in training or 3. both. Most are extremely driven in training. If a relatively small program does not do its homework, it will recruit the current FL, NXN, NBIN and NBON leaders hoping for a #1 or #3 type, but most often will get a #2 type. This is also the reason for the FL curse.
