Will Leer 4:10? Did he take a spill or something???

There was a post-race interview on USATF.tv. Centro said he's got a workout to do. There is a post-race show on there now.

LEER WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED???
What happened to Leer? Maybe shouldn't have gone to a show last night. Thought Ches might have gone a bit faster.

Surprised that Casey got third. I thought more people would close on him at the end. Lagat looked smooth. Where was Lalang at?
Exactly... this was really not that great a race when only three guys tried to win it. And Willis and Centro are capable of doing the same in a lower-key event. It didn't live up to the hype.

Ches made a big move about 1:30 in for no reason, i think that really sapped him. Lalang was never a factor

Wow, great race. Congrats to Centro. If Willis would have started just a bit faster he probably would have won. He had the fastest splits from 3 to the end. Best result was from Lagat. Amazing for him to shatter the previous record by that much. And Leer? Just doesn't seem like he had any strength tonight. Big surprise after last week.
On the broadcast they said Leer went to a Broadway show last night.
I blame that.
Jager finished in 29.39/26.95, better than anyone else other than Centro and Willis. May bode well for steeple outdoors.
What the hell happened to Will Leer? Last year's winner and he's run, what, 3:53 this year already?
Another NZ record for Willis?

Everybody in the race ran pretty much to capability except Lalang was a few seconds slow (and Leer of course).
Centro was out in 1:54; by advanced arithmetic that's 3:48 pace. Casey was brave to latch on and held on well. No one else wanted to commit suicide and they all would have run slower finish times if they had tried to go with Centro.
Great finish between the two real contenders; all you could ask for. And very classy by Centro. Crossed the line like he'd been there before and expected to win.

Did Lagat get the 1500 record en route?
Have no come across any 1500 splits for anyone.
Do Master get a cup to pee in?
Centrowitz was out in 1:55.90 for the half if those splits are yards online
Not sure why people try to make 800 split relevant, plus he was still over 1:55
The race was not great, really as no one else engaged
It was a great stirring stretch run and over the last 180 especially

Should have been

32.xx/65
32.xx
32.xx/2:10
The pacing was actually a little worse than you describe above as the first 200 meter split is actually 209 meters.
So in effect, the first 200 meter split was probably closer to 30 seconds which is way too fast for a mile race.
That would certainly explain why the athletes who went with the rabbit faded in the end. Rowbury, especially, who really pushed the pace from the gun,

Found it. Lagat's 1500m time was 3:40.20.
http://www.nyrrmillrosegames.org/news/Looks like he and Merber were carrying a piano for the last lap and a half or so.
In every meet the bear jumps on someones back(Mary Cane got this honor) and someone gets handed a piano (big piano needed both Leer and Merber ).
A more serious moving problem came in the HS division of the meet one HSer in the relay got the house, the garage and the SUV handed to him 110 meters out.
Shannon Rowbury indicated she is uninjured. It seems she slowed in the last 70 meters so she could dance with "The Lactic Monkey".
The Bear
The Piano
The House
What else have you been handed on the last lap?
