Why is no one talking about her amazing run at NBIGP?? She's a beast!

People are confused by such relays . I tried explaining to golfing buddies at a local watering hole . They just don't get it . Some questions like , "I thought it was illegal to run in the same lane ?"
"And how'd you know who was gonna finish first or second ?"
" Can u bet on running ?"
I was 2/4 for for the win if I could .
They liked the women's uniforms though .
Long way to go ; not in my lifetime in USA .
….probably because Nicole Schappert (whatever her married name is now?) came within a few tenths of a second from having this message board full of posters exclaiming, "What the hell is wrong with B Mart!"

Beast? She didn't run good. The gal from the local track club (who was that?) actually ran a faster split.
Good thing BMart got the baton earlier and had inside positioning or she would have lost.
I actually think BMart may have lost count of laps and thought she had 2 instead of 1 to go until the bell sounded and then panicked and was lucky to catch her. It's the only explanation for her erratic splits the last 600.
martinez ran great.
she was at least 5 maybe 7 pounds overweight, clearly not in the form of last summer.
nicole schappert runs for nyac - not some local club, and obtw anchored many penn relays victories for villanova, she knows probably better than anyone out there how to run a relay anchor.
and she almost pulled it off.
but martinez showed serious pride.
This was a lame indoor meet. There was a usa cross race somewhere and a few predictor workouts that got the bumps. But really it's that no one cares.
Nicole runs for New Jersey-New York Track Club, not NYAC
to be fair, I think she *used* to run for nyac, if i'm not mistaken? either way, big race for her, as I always remmeber her as a solid "local" runner, but def not good enough to take on big names. great run, hope she keeps it up. perhaps the new training group & coach are paying off already.

and her momentary terrible form that made her look like a wuss

She is a Hoka athlete , note the uniform please.
Nicole had a great day. Martinez an average day, no doubt in heavy training for world outdoors trials. NB asked her to run on the relay team. Take a shot at soft record was the plan.
A true test will be when the season starts. The 800 and 1500 & 5k are very tough events for all american women, lets see how Nicole stacks up when the real racing starts, wish her luck and gods speed.
