I've known steve since his HS days and watched him grow up as a runner. Whatever you say, he's had success at the high school, college, and pro level.
He just loves running. I watched him coach a bunch of HS boys to great times and he'd go nuts at meets, even for the slower ones.
And he gives away more information about high level training than anyone else out there. Hell, he just posted sample weeks leading up to Sara Hall's 70min half on his blog.
If you put yourself out there, you're going to get critiqued. It's the name of the game. If you get critiqued it means your doing something right.
Just look at this thread, some will critique his science, some his coaching, some his social media. But the fact that he's full time coaching college and pro athletes and doing a phd at the same time...says something.
