I was at the Armory on Thursday when the Oregon Project was doing their workout, and it was one of the coolest things I have ever seen. Thursday afternoons are high school practice days, and there was a high school relay meet right after the practice session ended, so there were many more high school runners than normal. Galen Rupp was warming up in the hallway downstairs, right next to high school runners and no one even noticed him or the other NOP members downstairs. However once they went upstairs to do their workout, every eye was on them. It was so cool to see them all spiked up and doing their workout right next to high schoolers. After (and sometimes even during) their workout, they were all swarmed with requests for pictures and autographs and graciously accepted the vast majority of them. It was certainly something those kids will never forget, and quite a sight to see. While this might have been a hindrance to their workout (as stated in the article above regarding Galen Rupp), it was a very special opportunity for those kids and props to the NOP members for handling it so well.
