I took up running 18 month ago after turning 41, quitting smoking and putting on a few too many inches. I ran a bit at school but never took it too seriously, and that was 23 years ago!
After 6 weeks of running I ran a 1:26:xx half marathon and decided to see where a bit of training could take me. Quickly got injured (piriformis) and took a few weeks off and then back at it averaging 40 miles per week. Last summer I ran a 1:21:xx half, a 1:17:xx later in the fall and have just run a 1:16:xx a couple of weeks ago. I am currently training for a marathon in April with the hopes of sub 2:45:00.
Now clearly I took this game up way too late, but at what point can I expect the increase in age to reverse my progress given the short time I have been running (assuming i don't snap first)?
