This article was from 2005. I would say the Hansons have done okay in the Marathon since then.
No one has the exact recipe for marathon training as there is always tinkering going on. It worked well for one male runner on the team, Brian Sell. Would runner for Salazar or another club had made him faster or not, we'll never know as father time came caller in terms of pr days for Brian. His high school times prove that he was no more, if not a lot less of a talent than most of his teammates. Others, like Morgan, Verran, O'Brien, Gibson, Canaday, etc...got to that 2:14-2:16 point and were stuck there in rut. They never got better, with years and years of the same training that Brian did. If we all trained with Renato, would we all set pr's? Doubtful. So yes, their program is certainly not a bad thing and has worked well for Desi and Brian, but many others never got to the next level. Seriously, it's an unknown. Try it and see if it works for you:)

"running for Salazar" not runner...it's late;)
Briney 2:12
Yes, I know that Trent did run that, but was never close again. In addition, it's a ways behind Brian.
2:12:35 versus Sell, that's too far. If you take that same difference off of Brian's time then suddenly he's right behind Salazar's best time.
Brian also broke 2:11, twice. Trent broke 2:13, once
RIP: D3 All-American Frank Csorba - who ran 13:56 in March - dead
RENATO can you talk about the preparation of Emile Cairess 2:06
