it's not like they weren't good when they went to Ole Miss.

The new coach, Ryan Van Hoy, also coached Eric Jenkins to 13:18 at Northeastern, and Isaac Presson at UNC. Young coach with an obvious upside.

Those are not good times. It's worked out because they had a fast race early enough that no one else is on the lists.

Heck, Webb was faster while still in high school. So they have a bunch of mediocre milers...big whoop.

Agreed. I've seen a lot of teams with this much depth in the mile. It's more common than you think.

Looks like the same group of dudes who ran in the NCAA XC champs at the end of last year. Good to see they have maintained the fitness and are running well.

Gavin Kennedy probably left a few decent distance folks interested in the program for Vanhoy to work with.

Those are pretty good times, but it's still early, and 4:00.62 won't qualify for nationals come March. A good XC base then 6-7 weeks of track work in December and January will produce fast times indoors.

4:58 makes you a hobbyjogger everywhere, not just LRC (unless you are a girl).

Depending on their age(s) that could be an awesome training group for a year or two and maybe, eventually a bunch of 3:55 guys which would qualify or at least score a ton of points at the SEC. 800 times look competitive at the conference level too. Never know how those races will turn out. Best athlete doesn't always win or even score. Either way, good recruiting tool for a Southern tier state.
