where did you see/hear this announced?
I don't doubt you but this is one of the major problems with our sport - why do meet directors hold back on who is in their meets until late? Wouldn't a build up help sell tickets?
OK Millrose is still 3 weeks away but it is under 2 weeks to the Boston New Balance meet why can't they announce the fields? They must have a real good idea who they have, but they will wait till just a few days before.
Don't blame the media for not covering your meet when you don't give them anything to cover. If you give them the fields well in advance they can build up the meet/match ups and can get staff assigned to the meet. Waiting until the last minute to announce the fields many outlets will have already assigned staff and space to other events
Hell the NY sports teams are horrible now take advantage of it and post the fields now to Millrose

3:49 if he gives an honest effort and just doesn't kick for the victory.
Agents often want their athlete to duck the faster guys or not let their guy get into a race above his current fitness so the year end won lost stats look better.
The haggle for appearance fees is complex and often very defendant on how many high rankers want into the event.
I assume if you get a WR holder type in the mix the agent or club will also get a couple paying lanes tied to the big name and thus changing the money for the other lanes. The guy who knows who is in and who is not plays lead fiddle in the behind the scenes band.
I just listened to an interview from the Kentucky fieldhouse where he ran this weekend. He says that he is going to run the mile at Millrose. Good on the Oregon coaches for letting him run in races where he can challenge himself against some of the best. He seems like a nice young man...hardly looks old enough to be in college though.
Am I living in the twilight zone? The Boston Marathon weather was terrible!
Is there a rule against attaching a helium balloon to yourself while running a road race?
How rare is it to run a sub 5 minute mile AND bench press 225?

Mark Coogan says that if you could only do 3 workouts as a 1500m runner you should do these
